In my recent downtime while the shop was closed, I spent some time cleaning up the studio.  Twice a year I do a huge studio clean; I take everything off all surfaces, rescuing and reviving every surface from polishing and sandpaper dust from finishing pieces.  It usually takes me the best part of a week, I move furniture and leave no surface untouched.  Inevitably, this turns up some vintage treasures, unfinished projects and things that I have to put down for one reason or another.  Usually I run out of steam as my ambitions do not align with my post-treatment energy levels, so I plod along until I finish.

The archive collection is something I'm very much looking forward to sharing on a weekly basis.  The pieces will be rotated from week to week giving you access to pieces from my making archive that I'm able to share again.  Almost all of my vintage pieces are available in very small numbers and many pieces sell out and I never know if I will find them again.  The archive collection will allow me to share these pieces if the vintage Gods smile upon me with supplies.

Sometimes pieces sell out the day I release them.  It is very common for me to have only 2-3 pairs to share; other times I'm able to secure an entire wholesale box of vintage treasures.  Those pieces will be in the shop for longer, purely because I have more of them to offer.  The fickle nature of working with vintage and found objects is all part of the fun for me.  When I list a pair as "ONE PAIR LEFT" that is true at the time of listing.  Sometimes my suppliers have more of some pieces, while some pieces never come across my bench after that last "ONE PAIR LEFT" goes to their new home.

I source vintage treasures every single work day.  I'm always looking.  If you have a pair that live rent free in your head, feel free to send me a screenshot and I can hunt on your behalf.  There's never any guarantee, of course, but that's all part of the fun.  The thrill of the hunt never gets old for me.

The archive collection will refresh weekly, around mid week (Wednesday or Thursday).  What piece would you like to see return?
